ELE2012
Thursday June 7: ELE2012 in The Hague!
ELE-Platform
Encuentro Latino Europeo is a platform for policy analysis and dialogue between Latin Americans and Europeans. It is based on the conviction that there is a world to win for both Latin America and Europe in strongly intensifying their relationships; both as partners, complementing each other, and as allies, together taking responsibility for promoting a workable and sustainable world order.
At the yearly conference, themes are discussed that concern both sides, and those are screened for their relevance for the cooperation agenda between the two partners and allies. In this, Encuentro Latino Europeo tries to procure an integral view on society – In what society do we want to live? – by giving equal weight to the Four P’s:
- People: welfare, social peace and stability, income distribution, social cohesion, trust
- Power: sovereignty, democracy, good governance, security, geopolitical stability, peace
- Profit: economic growth, market and state, international integration, innovation
- Planet: climate, environment, biodiversity.
Encuentro Latino Europeo is a policy oriented dialogue between equals, involving the realities and interests of both sides – with a view to learn, grow and act together. Encuentro Latino Europeo is not a conference on Latin America. It is not a conference where Latin America is put to analysis, nor a conference on European development cooperation with Latin America.
